efface, eface, effacing, efacing, reset, skill

I recently had to "efface" my stunts points (because I was silly and forgot to leave a point for kiss of holy gun)...

I just thought I would share... that even though the Skill Tutor says that it costs 300 IM to efface a stunt the actual cost (As of May 2012) is 10,000,000 game coin.

For those that dont know what efface" (in this game) means; it means erasing/ un-doing / clearing all your stunts so that no stunt points have been spent but you will still be the the skill level you were and have the same amount of stunt points to spend as you had previously spent.
In my case it meant I stayed at level 120 shooting but got to re-spend/ re-distribute the 28 stunt points to my stunt skills.
Note: you will have to re-purchase/ re-pay for all stunt skills ... so be sure to have some game coin on your character.

I do not know when this price change took affect.... may have been quite a while ago....But I did not remember reading about it.

About 24 hours after Effacing my gun skills, I realized I was missing my Soul of Saber Stunts.
I had to buy back both level 1 and 2 Soul of Saber Stunts!!!!

I should also point out you can "Demote" a skill (take it back to phase 1).   The Skill tutor says it costs 500 IM points, But ( I noted over a year ago) it actually costs 90 IM points. (10,000,00 coin now ??? May 2012)

I also want to point out that, considering the price difference, you might as well buy a phase 2 promotion book (called [skill name] Promoting Book) in the item mall for 99 IM points, rather than Demote a skill at the skill tutor

I guess I should add that this is for regular skills only!
To efface profession skills you need to use the lethe tool.

To unlearn the profession skills  ie the AB, EG, TH, RMO, PoC... Seabattle, Land Battle or Production skills you must use the Lethe Tool

it costs 330 IM points.

You also get one Lethe Tool FREE from the Free gear giver in Seville (top level) .  When you reach levels 30, 60, 90 and 120, you get the Lethe tool, and 1 unlock cabin and 1 unlock bag.

I did a bit of searching.... Skill tutor use to only have efface of skill (now called demote).  We use to be able to buy stunt effacing books for 90 IM.  They must have changed/ added the demote and efface when effacing books were removed (due to a bug) sometime back ...about May 2009.

I remember them in Reward Center. I wanted to buy foundry one but i didn't had enough credits. Seems they removed it now.

I still think 90IM is too much, they should be back in reward center and price should be around 500 credits, since its not really popular product in mall....

yes you do have to re-buy/re- pay for your stunts after effacing
(I'll add that to the above)

About 24 hours after I effaced my Gun Stunts, I realized my Soul of Saber Stunt was missing!
I had to buy back Soul of Saber 1 and find a book to get Soul of Saber 2 back!
