[Guides] Malta Instance Guide

REMINDERS
1) U need a team to enter Malta
2) If you are in 2 and you quit the team u automatically loose whatever point u arrived at inside the instance and it counts as if you did 1 full round.
3) U can enter Malta 3 times a DAY.
4) You can go out whenever you want BUT ships will keep on spawning and attacking Malta if u do so.
5) Tasks in Genoa are daily. But bugged --> http://forum.vc.igg.com/viewthread.php?tid=38851&extra=page%3D1
6) The military boxes from Genoa can give Silver (10k-100k-1kk-10kk)or Profession Sea Battle jewels from level 63-93.

7) Ships will only drop flags or special items like Hason's Rudder. All the flags can be only exchanged in Genoa.
8) NONE of the ships can be grappled. (Don't know about greek fire)
9) You can have cannons destroyed!
10) It is common to get a strange thing happan to everyone in the team. You get strange lines and geometrical patterns coming from your ship outwards. It's normal (I guess) and it's usually just temporary and last only like 1 min. Everyone in your team gets it too.
11) If it seems you have frozen DON'T relog. Your computer should be able to buffer up all the info and u should just see everything already happaned after that.
12) As of all instances if you crash it takes 5 mins to go offline. So it's no use to log off if your in trouble.

SKIRMISH!
This the first and easies to levels.
Ships will only attack you and u won't have to worry about defending Malta itself.

Minimum euip to SOLO instance

1) Suggested for Malta:
Malta Skirmish; 75 ship dodge, 60 cannon accuracy
Malta Defense; 175 ship dodge, 160 cannon accuracy
Malta Defense Elite; 280 ship dodge, 250 cannon accuracy

(old numbers)
Cannons - 240+ (Preferably level 7+ buckshots)
Ship dodge - 60+
Ship Accu  - 40+
Cannon Att. - 10+
2x Best shield your ship can use. (Preferably cannonproof)
Armed Buisnessman alt to put sea buffs on you that will reduce 25% of damage to hull, sail, and sailors.
Possibly a white uniform and hat or a navy helmet for Boss.
An alt to team. (watch out for lag)

Strategy
RMO Profession Stunts
SPLASH (5) - will help a lot as they tend to spawn in bunches
POTSHOT (5) - will help when ur surrounded
POWDER KNOWLEDGE (5) - More accuracy thus you will yield more damage to ships
RANGE STUNT (5) - Enemy ships all have howies euipped so this will help for range
ENHANCED ALLERT (5) - Decreases the damage to your shield

NON - RMO Profession Stunts
Whatever reduces damage to hull, sails and sailors is a must.
Emperor's Guardian has a skill tha increases 75 dodge for 15 secs if it's at level 5.... might be usefull if u have a lot of problems.

BEFORE the instance
1) Take around 20-30k AP balls. (Quality and High Explo is better but not necessary)
2) Have an AB use buffs on you and teammates.
3) Make sure you euip all your Sea battle Jewels. (Personal experience)
4) Take the task in Genoa.
5) Get your full sailors.

DURING the instance
1) Mainly ignore the messages as the S-W-E-N is messed up.
2) Stand in front of Malta outpost.
3) As ships approach you use both sides of your cannons.
4) If you want to know where the ships will come from as soon as you get in you will be facing Malta. First wave will spawn to your right, second to your left and third right behind you (with boss).
5) Flags dropped will dissapear after 6 mins so pick them up.
6) Remeber that under 50% hull your cannons may be destroyed. (Unequip them)
7) Always keep an eye on our shield.
8) There is no particular strategy for boss just keep shooting ta him before he sinks you.

AFTER the instance
1) Repair your shields and ship stock on some ammo.
2) Congratulate urself on soloing Maltese.
3) Have a drink in a pub.

EXTRA INFO
1) With 100 ship dodge only the boss is able to hit you with around 100 hull damage.

DEFENSE!
This is the second level in Malta.
Ships will not only attack you but also the matese fortifications.
If the matese fortifications are destroyed you loose and no more ships will spawn.
This instance will spawn a series of sub-bosses and bosses.. not making it easy.
In order to enter this instance you need a passport. The passport can be echanged to the npc in genoa for 20 low level maltese honor medals and Hassan's Rudder dropped from Hassan even on second level. The passport will NOT dissapear after you went in.

Minimum euip to SOLO instance
Cannons - 580+ Level 11 Howies
Ship dodge - 140+
Ship Accu  - 100+
Cannon Att. - 40+
4x Super Cannonproof shields.
Armed Buisnessman alt to put sea buffs on you that will reduce 25% of damage to hull, sail, and sailors.
Refined white uniform and Refined White Hat + Non Refined
An alt to team. (watch out for lag)
VERY VERY Hard.

Strategy (3 players)
RMO Profession Stunts

1) There are three major spawnspots in this instance. They are the same ones as in the ones in the skirmish. As soon as you enter in the instance one will be on ur right one on ur left and one directly behind you.
2) The one directly behind u is the hardest. the one to the right is the easisest and the one to the left is the medium 1.
3) Waves will spawn at these three spots continuously.
4) After a few waves central spot recieves boss Hassan.
5) After that a few more waves in anticipation to boss Ali (only on central spawn again) which I think is bugged as he looks exactly as any of the other ships spawns as in not tagged as Ali.
6) Then a few spawns after that central position recieves Dragut's Capital Ship while the other two spawns recieve two sub-bosses. (normal white skills)
--> if u leave Only Dragunt's capital ship in the instance and head out it will NOT attack the Malta pillar so u can go to repair shields and get more ammo etc. (All credits to Allaina [Da Gama])
7) After dracut is killed everyone has to converge to central spot because 2 Sub-Boss ship Basha will spawn (use refined white skills) and shortly after those two another one will spawn which is the big boss (Basha's capitol ships) with a few tortuga bs melee ships.
8)Instance finished.

AFTER the instance
1) Repair your shields and ship stock on some ammo.
2) Congratulate urself on soloing Maltese.
3) Have a drink in a pub.

Same as level 2 in spawns and everything just better drops and muuuuch harder ships.

  Great guide, here's another image for your guide to help complete it.



  Also I do Malta L2 (without buffs), and if you are willing to chew up super shields (I use 5) you can do it with QBS and 100 ship dodge  (only Basha round hurts alot so finish it quickly). With Buckshot Ammo I think max 120 ship dodge is required for L2, maybe less with buffs. I definitely think 140 is higher than actually required.

I have been in LVL 3 yesterday it was really insane,the only problem till Dragut's Capital Ship is your shields, they all eat shields like cookies!! Our asses got kicked when Dragut's Capital Ship showed up he hitted for 15k+ and did have more range then lvl 12 howies!

All 4 people in the team died and when we went back with repairs etc. Malta emplacement was down f66   f66

Yeah I was in with MissMiracle, we had full team of high lvl Sea Battle players and Dragut just cleaned house. Dragut hit you wherever you were, no restriction to his range and hit hard. Not to mention the two sub-bosses, and the smaller ships that spawn with. At 138 ship dodge criticals were 14k, 32k, 9k, 14k, not sure which NPC the hits came from but the screen was red most of the time xD. Sheild lasted about 12 seconds, it was a massacre. Even the smallest ships that spawn with Dragut were near 200k hull, was just too much happening to truly take it all in.


Tip for Lvl 2 Malta....

With Dragut...

   When Dragut spawns do not kill him, kill off the two sub-bosses and all the smaller waves of ships. Leave Dragut at about 5% HP then leave the instance. Sail to Tripoli, repair shields and let white suits recharge. Dragut will not attack the emplacement, he just anchors and waits until someone enters. However make sure there is not one of the smaller ships parked behind Malta island as they will shoot out the emplacement.

For Basha...

Bashas Capital Ship ( the boss ) will spawn with one Basha ship ( sub-boss ). If you are near the South spawn point and do not move around too much the two will stay tight to each other and if you are RMO with splash-attack you will damage both at the same time.
Approx 60 seconds later the 2nd Basha Ship ( sub-boss ) will spawn. Two times I had killed Bashas Capital Ship before killing the 2nd Basha Ship and once before it had even spawned, I got sunk by the 2nd Basha ship. It really seemed to piss off the number 2 ship and the hits were coming hard and fast. I recommend sinking the 2nd Basha Ship first, save Bashas Capital Ship final kill shot until #2 is dead, or almost dead.
