When I try to log in using Firefox :
When I click the log in button on the vco page; I CAN log into the main IGG site but when it redirects back to the VCO forum I am not logged in.
I can also log in dirrectly to the IGG main page but the vco forum stays logged out and does nothing if I try to click the link and log in.

I am currently using Opera browser to log in.

please reply to this thread and report similar problems with any other browsers!

Has nothing to do with the browser.

Simply do not use HTTP protocol to login.
You need to use HTTPS instead.

So do not use

Well it is the browser in that for some reason Firefox does not automaticlally try "https" and only uses "http"  because the other browsers work fine.
(Though I suppose - I would guess -  there is probably also a "programming reason it doesnt work" seems IGG is to lazy to update their pages to add the "s" to all their old links.)

it also does not help that on/in the VC forum we only see
you only see the http if you cut and paste.

But I am glad you figured out what was going on and how to "fix" it.

thx D

from google search:

HTTPS is HTTP with encryption. The difference between the two protocols is that HTTPS uses TLS (SSL) to encrypt normal HTTP requests and responses. As a result, HTTPS is far more secure than HTTP.
A website that uses HTTP has HTTP:// in its URL, while a website that uses HTTPS has HTTPS://. notice the link in the news section to our free lunch page is so old that it has/is http...
but if you copy paste the link to read the full address;
in firefox it stays http
in any other browser it becomes https.
