for reference gulch gold is 50 IM points for one....
it has never been in a hot sale or in any IM event...
that I found.

search did not bring it up for any past free lunches either..... but those can get erased...
so it is possible i missed one?

so I wouldn't hold my breath on getting any free....it would probably go on a hot sale before it goes to free lunch.

so far only mention of gold nugget fragments i have found was for the Halloween quest line tasks in 2017.
