Chinese New Year (Day) will be on Friday, February 16, 2018
We are celebrating the Year of the Dog (Earth Element).
The festival will last to March 2nd, about 15 days in total.
Kicking off the main festivities is the Little Year on February 8th, with the Spring Festival officially beginning February 16th (the 15th is New Year's Eve) and ending with the Lantern Festival on March 2nd.
New Years Eve; The reunion dinner, the most important meal of the year, takes place on this day. After dinner, the children will receive red envelopes. The family will then stay up late and wait for the New Year (守岁—shǒu suì).
As an official public holiday, Chinese people can get seven days' absence from work, from Thursday, February 15th to Wednesday February 21st.
