Chinese New Year (Day) will be on Friday, February 16, 2018
We are celebrating the Year of the Dog (Earth Element).

The festival will last to March 2nd, about 15 days in total.
Kicking off the main festivities is the Little Year on February 8th, with the Spring Festival officially beginning February 16th (the 15th is New Year's Eve) and ending with the Lantern Festival on March 2nd.

New Years Eve; The reunion dinner, the most important meal of the year, takes place on this day. After dinner, the children will receive red envelopes. The family will then stay up late and wait for the New Year (守岁—shǒu suì).

As an official public holiday, Chinese people can get seven days' absence from work, from Thursday, February 15th to Wednesday February 21st.

**EDIT 2/12/2018**
FoK says IGG will be taking the Holiday from Wednesday February 14th through Thursday February 22nd.

**So be prepared for no server maintenance and no support during this time!!

Chinese New Year is celebrated by more than 20% of the world. It’s the most important holiday in China and to Chinese people all over.

We have now gone a full cycle through all the animals in the Chinese Zodiac since Our version (not to mention the Chinese version) started.

2006 was also a dog year.  Was there a charm back then?
its possible the colony pets - it had a lot of dogs - were for 2006?
(Next year will be year of pig)

I think Snail has moved away from making the charms and have started making pets...
I do remember the horse head charm that was just stupid looking... but I think i saw a goat pet in a background shot once..

I would look for a Rooster, Monkey and Goat pets (corresponding to 2017, 2016, and 2015) in the Chinese version of the game.. see if they got them or if the animal idea was discontinued.

Unfortunately it looks like EVERY picture we had of Chinese game has been deleted.
I know all links broke during forum transfer... but the coding is not even there anymore.
so i have no pictures of chinese game to look at to look for the animals... oh well.

FROM CHINA VCO FORUMS... trimmed out of a pic
