Introduction and basic information

Ship armors are considered to be one very important part of players equipment. At the time when Voyage Century was introduced for the first time, ship armors were very popular among players because they were the only way to protect the ship from damage. Players who managed to get one had a huge advantage in game.
Since Colony Age version, ship armors were becoming less important with the introduction of sea dodge. Today, ship armors are still important but play less of a role.

Most of the ship armors have their own durability. Durability decreases proportional to the damage received. Durability of player crafted ship armors can be recovered, while other ship armors require Almighty Repair Kits. Repairing at shipyard boss will decrease their maximum durability which cannot be recovered ever again. Some special ship armors like the 7-Sea Shield do not have durability and they do not need to be repaired.

Most of the ship armors have weight attribute. While stored in ships inventory, they will take up portion of the ships load. After equipping, they will become weightless, they will not take any of the ships load.

Naming

There's been some misunderstanding with naming. Ship armors are sometimes called shields. Possibly due to translation error.

There are also some other items named shields and armors which have nothing to do with ship armors. Example of this would be King's Shield, which is a level 140 necklace used in Desolate Valley (Ordinary) instance. Because of this, players should always pay attention to the "Gear position:" info.

Regular craftable ship armors

These armors are available since alpha version.

Regular ship armors are divided into three categories
- Cannon proof armor - provides extra hull protection
- Sail armor - provides extra sail protection
- Ram proof armor - provides extra ramming protection
They are all crafted using ship building skill. More information on how to craft them can be found in the Ship-building Guide.

Special craftable ship armors

Low level, secondary and high level armors are available since alpha version. Quality and super level were added later in Colony Age version. They are all crafted using ship building skill. More information on how to craft them can be found in the Ship-building Guide.

Colony ship armors

Colony armors are available since Colony Age version.

In order to gain access to these armors, player needs to be in a guild which owns a colony. They are only available at Military colonies. Once the colony has enough tech points, they will be available on sale at Shipyard Boss.
Every purchase will consume colony index points. In order to be able to see these armors at Shipyard Boss, colony needs to have enough index points. If any of the four indexes drop down to zero, armors will not appear at all.

Since no drawings exists for these armors, their maximum durability cannot be recovered. Repairing at other players and shipyard bosses will reduce the maximum durability. Best way to repair them is by using Almighty Repair Kits.

Note: Ares' armor is supposed to be level 12 armor. For some unknown reason its level is being shown as level 11. This is also happens with other level 12 colony items.

Non-craftable ship armors

Non compoundable armors are available since alpha version.

These armors can only be bought at shipyard bosses. They cannot be repaired by players, they can only be repaired at shipyard boss which will reduce their maximum durability. They are a combination of cannonproof and sail shields.
